weldingWe are thrilled to annouce that one of our students, Eang Kavey, has won first place in the field of welding at the National Skill Competition.

The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MOLVT), Asian Economic Community (AEC) 2015 and Asean Standard (the Department of National Competency Standard), recently hosted a National Skill Competition during July 18-22, 2014.

The competition judged participants in fields that included electric welding, IT solutions for business, brick layering construction and electrical systems.  Students and young workers aged 18 to 22 years from the public and private sectors were encouraged to join in the competition held in Phnom Penh.  Don Bosco took up the challenge of sending Eang Kavey, one of our talented welding students, to participate in the electrical welding field.  With only a month of preparation, Eang Kavey won first place with a rating of 91.65 over another two contenders from another school and company.

On October 9, 2014 the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training awarded a gold medal and a cash prize of of 3,000,000 riel to Eang Kavei and to each winner in the various fields. Eang Kavei will go on to represent Cambodia in the Asean Skill Competition in Hanoi City in Vietnam come October.
